Cottonwood Thoroughbred Agistment is a family business managed by Ms Cody Farquhar who started working in the industry over 20 years ago. The property is 70 acres of prime horse country located beside Warlands Creek,joining Emirates Park Stud and the New England Highway at the head of the Hunter Valley.
In 2008 with much help from her late father David, Cody was able to start her Thoroughbred business. The property was transformed to provide the following facilities: 6 large safe grazing paddocks, 3 with shelter sheds and all with lane way access including holding yards, a 12 stable breezeway barn for sale preparation, a large shed with versatile vet crush and wash bay, 12 small yards, a round yard, a horse walker, yearling runs and a colt paddock.
The small business now specializes in breeding, foaling down, handling & weaning, yearling preparation and spelling, all with personalized care, affordable rates and flexible terms. Cody along with her husband Daniel Cooper and daughter Tyler are now enjoying breeding a few of their own thoroughbreds, the first of which are 2 year olds.
